With over 33 years of professional football experience, Ian Taylor brings an extensive background in both playing and coaching at the highest levels. Ian’s career began as a player in South Africa, where he played for clubs such as Cape Town Spurs FC and FC Fortune. Transitioning to coaching, Ian has since held prominent positions across various national and international clubs, including Cape Town City FC, AJAX Cape Town FC, and AFC AJAX Amsterdam, where he served as Head of Talent Development in partnership with Guangzhou R&F in China.

Ian holds the UEFA A Licence and the UEFA Elite A Youth Licence, equipping him with the technical and tactical expertise to develop both youth and senior players. His coaching philosophy focuses on holistic player development, combining technical skills with personal growth, allowing players to thrive both on and off the pitch.

Known for his ability to build strong relationships with players and teams, Ian has worked as Head Coach, Assistant Coach, and Youth Development Head, managing teams at various levels, from the Premier Soccer League to the National First Division. His international exposure has allowed him to adapt his coaching methods to diverse football cultures, making him an asset to the Spirit International Football Academy.
